Crimestoppers offers rewards on all felony crimes within the 9 parishes served. Our standard reward is up to $2,500 for information which leads to an arrest (up to $5,000 for arrest and indictment in homicides). On occasion depending on case specifics, such as multiple victims or a case involving a child, a reward may be increased by the Crimestoppers Board up to $5,000. Any mention of the Crimestoppers reward must be done through Crimestoppers, unless approved in writing by the organization. Crimestoppers has given permission to their partner law enforcement agencies to include our tagline on all media alerts sent out by law enforcement when reporting a felony incident. Our tagline reads:
Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or 1 877-903-STOP. Callers do not have to give their name or testify to be eligible for the up to $2,500 reward or up to $5,000 in the incident of a homicide. Callers MUST contact Crimestoppers directly.
A reward will be paid once the investigating law enforcement agency supplies Crimestoppers written verification that a tip helped lead to the arrest of a suspect. Rewards can be split on any given case depending on the information provided and law enforcement's disposition of all tips received. Rewards are paid out in cash using case specific Tip number maintaining the anonymity of the tipster. A tipster is never identified through out our process.
Individuals, corporations, etc. may make a case specific donation to increase a reward.
If you are interested in adding to a Crimestoppers reward, please contact the administrative office at (504) 837-8477.
If you have witnessed or have information concerning this incident, you must call Crimestoppers DIRECTLY and SUBMIT AN ANONYMOUS TIP at (504) 822-1111to qualify for the reward. You will remain ANONYMOUS and do not have to testify in court to earn the CASH REWARD. Call Crimestoppers and you will be issued a TIP NUMBER, which is the only way we identify you. You must keep your number to check on the status and be eligible for the Reward. The reward is paid in cash.
