On Sunday, October 16, 2022, at about 8:10 p.m., a man was driving westbound on Chef Menteur Highay in New Orleans East when he struck the victim Mary McLeod who was trying to cross the street. She may have been hit by another driver, however, nobody stopped to render aid. She died at the scene.
