On July 10, 2012 officers responded to shots fired in the 2400 block of Arts St. where they found the body of Jaquon Jasper Pittman in a back yard. Jaquon Jasper Pittman had been shot in the chest and died from this injury. Another victim sustained a graze wound to the arm.
