On Thursday, November 2, 2017 at about 3:45 p.m. New Orleans Police responding to a call found the body of Peter Leon Oatis, Jr. near the intersection of Donald Douglas and a Lakeshore Drive. Peter Oatis had been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene.
