On January 9, 2017 at approximately 2:33 am NOPD officers responding to shots fired at the intersection of Dale and Warfield Street found Louis Monroe. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The death was originally unclassified.
The Orleans Parish Coroner later classified his death as a homicide by shooting.
