On January 8, 2018 New Orleans Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 6300 block of Woodland Hwy. Upon arrival, officers found Jyren Thomas lying down in the driveway of an apartment complex next to a fence suffering from gunshot wounds. Jyren was pronounced dead at the scene.
