Dione was a victim of a hit-and-run on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 5:45 a.m. when attempting to cross the intersection of Belle Point Blvd. and Airline Highway (U.S/ 61) in LaPlace, LA. The unidentified driver involved was suspected of driving a dark colored 1994 to 1998 Ford Mustang that struck and killed her.
