On December 10, 1998 at approximately 8:34 p. m. Derek was found at the intersection of Clio and South White Street with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was in a supine position with injuries
to his head, chest and leg. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds on December 20, 1998.
