On March 15, 2018 at approximately 6:50 pm, Byron was riding a bicycle in the 1300 block of Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. when he was approached by an unknown vehicle whose occupants opened fire striking the victim multiple times. Byron was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
