Crimestoppers pays a reward of up to $2,500 on all felony crimes committed in
Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. James,
St. Tammany and Plaquemine parishes.
Reward amounts are determined by the crime committed and quality of information
provided, following a payment matrix, which was designed by Crime Stoppers
International. Rewards are always paid in cash, and you do not have to reveal
your identity to receive a reward. Tipsters remain anonymous throughout the
entire process.
Rewards are paid out by Crimestoppers board members in a public location, once
the caller verifies him or herself through a code number we assign each case.
Callers are paid once their information has led to an arrest and an indictment
has been received on the case.
Crimestoppers offers a standard reward of up to $2,500 on all felony crimes committed in our eight-parish area. Additional reward money is sometimes added to our Crimestoppers reward by individuals. These are called Supplemental Rewards. When a individual decides to add to the Crimestoppers reward, a Supplemental Reward contract is completed between Crimestoppers and the individual. The additional money is set aside to be used for that specific crime. Crimestoppers will promote the increased reward to the media to increase awareness of the crime.
