While Crimestoppers’ successes are impressive, our volunteer efforts are limited by funds. We need your financial support to help continue the fight against crime and make our communities a better place to live.

Crimestoppers has relied on money received from private contributions to fund the program. But, as our success has grown in solving crime, so have our costs.

We are very thankful to our many private and governmental granting agencies for allowing Crimestoppers to continue to build upon our success. The Crimestoppers Safe School Hotline program has been funded entirely through grant sources.

Other Ways Companies Can Help.

Besides joining our Crimestoppers Club or supporting our many special events, there are other ways to help. Options that we would like to suggest for your employees’ involvement include:

Employee Gift Program
Many employees would like to support a valuable service such as Crimestoppers, but may feel they do not have the funds available at the end of the month to do so. Therefore, we would like to suggest a benefit that is easy for a company to offer – an Employee Gift Program. Allowing employees to make a payroll deduction to Crimestoppers is a great way to get involved. A payroll deduction can be as easy as filling out an employee pledge card requesting that the company withhold a specific amount each week/month to be donated to Crimestoppers.

Here’s A Tip: Make it an EVENT: Fun days, such as dress down days, are an easy way to gather contributions. Employees enjoy the privilege of relaxing attire while raising money for Crimestoppers.

Year End Gifts
The federal government encourages charitable giving and will provide tax benefits to you and/or your Company when donating to a 501c3 not for profit organization such as Crimestoppers.

Securities
Have you considered a gift of stock or securities? If you have owned your stock for more than one year, you will receive credit at the full fair market value as your gift, while bypassing all capital gains penalties.

Real Estate
Gifts of appreciated real estate are similar to gifts of appreciated stock. If you have owned the real estate for over a year; you may donate the property, deduct the gift at the fair market value and avoid capital gains taxes.

Insurance
Life insurance policies are a creative way to help an organization. To qualify, the charity needs to become the owner and beneficiary of the policy. No incidents of ownership may be retained. If your policy is paid in full, the contribution is generally the replacement value or cost basis of the policy, whichever is less. Ongoing premiums paid on a gifted life insurance policy also qualify for charitable deductions.
